What The Bible Says About Prayer.

The Bible tells us much about prayer.  In this session we explore the many facets of prayer.  We look at the “when, where and how” of prayer.   This is illustrated through verses in the Bible.  For example this is when Jesus prayed, “Before daybreak the next morning, Jesus got up and went out to an isolated place to pray” Mark 1:35.  Another facet of prayer is repentance.  Do you ask God to forgive you for your sins before you begin praying?  Psalms 66:18 says, “If I had not confessed the sins of my heart the Lord would not have listened.”  Wow, how many prayers does God not even listen to because we have not repented?

A friend once told me all you need is faith and your prayers will be answered.  Well that is wishful thinking.  My search in the word of God led me to understand that faith is one component of prayer but there are many others.  For example, in your prayer do you ask for God’s will to be accomplished?
